A small tornado likely touched down in South Los Angeles on Friday, according to ABC7 Chief Meteorologist Dallas Raines.
The incident happened in the 5800 block of Estrella Avenue some time before noon, as a storm pummeled the area.
Resident Jamie Mena captured incredible footage of the potential twister as it spun through the neighborhood, scattering debris and bending trees.
Raines, who reviewed the video, said the event was likely an F-0 tornado.
“Because of the cyclonic twist of the debris,” Raines said.
It was not clear how much damage the possible tornado caused and there were no immediate reports of injuries.
National Weather Service investigators will determine if the wicked weather was, in fact, a tornado.
