Joan Rivers’ Life of Controversy Lives On
Comedienne and actress Joan Rivers passed away today according to multiple reports, but that hasn’t stopped or slowed the controversy that has surrounded her. Famous for her biting (and sometimes downright mean) humor, wherever Rivers went, controversy was not very far behind her. Just a few days before suffering cardiac arrest during a routine throat operation, Rivers was blasted by people from all over the world when she made comments regarding the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
According to The Nottingham Press, “The performer courted controversy last week when a reporter asked for her thoughts on the Palestinian death toll. Ms Rivers said: “Oh my God! Tell that to the people in Hiroshima. Good. Good. When you declare war, you declare war. They started it.

Joan Rivers’ passing has sparked an interesting controversy on social media, ranging from tweets of sorrow to anger and all out hatred. Below is a sampling of tweets that began circulating moments after news of her passing was made public. From calling her names:

Back to hate:
According to CNN.com, “‘She passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends,’ Melissa Rivers said in a written statement.” Joan Rivers will live on for her fans and foes, with thousands of her appearances on YouTube, on demand, etc. Now that she has passed, and once the anger has settled, how do you think Rivers will be remembered?
