This is the moment the Nepal earthquake struck. It was filmed by chance by a tourist as the surrounding buildings started to shake.
Birds are seen flying away in their thousands as the intense shaking dislodged them from their perches.
It was filmed in Kathmandu at the moment the first – and most powerful – tremors were felt, causing buildings to collapse and leading to the strange spectacle of thousands of confused birds taking to the air at the same time which is possibly the most chilling aspect of the video.
