New York Times Op-Ed on Holy Weekend: ‘God Is DEAD’

NY Times declares 'God is dead' on Easter weekend

The New York Times published an op-ed Friday that proposed killing God – as one of the holiest weekends of the year commences.

Titled “In This Time of War, I Propose We Give Up God,” the article complains that God is responsible for “war and violence” and for “oppression and suffering,” and suggests that people let Him die and stop teaching children about His existence.

Breitbart.com reports: Author Shalom Auslander, who is disillusioned about his upbringing in a religious Jewish community in New York, argues (original emphasis):

God, it seems, paints with a wide brush. He paints with a roller. In Egypt, said our rabbi, he even killed first-born cattle. He killed cows. If he were mortal, the God of Jews, Christians and Muslims would be dragged to The Hague. And yet we praise him. We emulate him. We implore our children to be like him.

Perhaps now, as missiles rain down and the dead are discovered in mass graves, is a good time to stop emulating this hateful God. Perhaps we can stop extolling his brutality. Perhaps now is a good time to teach our children to pass over God — to be as unlike him as possible.

Killing gods is an idea I can get behind.

Good Friday is widely observed on Friday, followed by Easter Sunday; Passover is observed starting on Friday night.

  1. So we know who owns, runs and works for the NY times, the antichrist people.
And all the communications media, even schoolbooks.
They bought it all up for pennies on the dollar when they intentionally caused the crash of 1929, in order to do it.
They always create a monopoly of their own antichrist people, in everything they infest.
Whatever they infiltrate they turn from good to evil, such as the Vatican itself.
The ones who make this world Godless and perverted and depraved.
The ones who blame God for their own sins.
All psychopaths blame their victims and project their own evil onto their victims as an excuse for the evil they do.
They can destroy life and Lie, that they are somehow heros for doing it.
Or they blame God for it, with more lies.
The old God, of the jews was always Lucifer, and it still is. Want proof= just read the old testament.
Christ arrived to save us, but those who deny Christ are like cockroaches,
You can never get rid of them, but there is a place for them to be contained.
They will love it in Hell when they get there.
They are dead to God there in Hell.
the mirror of their inner truth is Hell.
In Hell they will be comfortable, because nothing of God exists there.
There is nothing of God in the antichrist people on their way to Hell.
No Love, peace, kindness, mercy, forgiveness or Truth.
The antichrist people who deny Jesus Christ, can exist in violence, horror, cruelty, torture, hating and destroying one another in all their sadistic glory forever. Without any God, but a master who controls, enslaves and dominates without mercy, the one they have all made themselves in the image of=Lucifer.

  2. God is Eternal Life, without beginning and without end. John 8:58-“Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly! I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.'”
And Psalm 103:17 — “The mercy and loving-kindness of the LORD are from everlasting to everlasting upon those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, and His righteousness is to children’s children.”
It was the German philosopher Nietzsche (1844-1900) who said, “God is dead.” It was not that he claimed God ever existed, but he meant that the “concept” of God is dead in our civilization. Nevertheless, the truth is revealed in two quotes I once saw scrawled on a stall in a restroom:
    “God is dead.” — Nietzsche
    “Nietzsche is dead.” — God

  3. Yes it is time to stop following the spiritual power that causes all this misery, suffering and death. In the writings of the disciple John, in four separate passages he states that Satan is the spiritual power of this world. In three of those passages, he is quoting Jesus. See for example John 14:30. This current ruler will not be fully deposed until he is cast into the place of restraint in the future. See Revelation 12:19, where he is called the power who “deceives the whole world”. Revelation 20:2
