Russia & China Slam US Over THAAD Deployment In South Korea

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman called on the US and South Korea to halt the deployment operations.

Russia and China have voiced serious concern after the U.S. military started moving parts of a missile-defense system to a site in South Korea amid increasing tensions with the North.

South Korean media reported that the long-planned deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) to South Korea began on Wednesday with the arrival of radar equipment and other hardware.

There were scuffles between police and protesters on Wednesday as pieces of equipment from the missile system began arriving at the designated site.

Press TV reports:

Reacting at a daily news briefing in Beijing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang called on the US and South Korea to halt the deployment operations.

The spokesman said Beijing had conveyed its serious concern to the US and South Korea over the matter.

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula have significantly spiked in recent weeks. The US, concerned by North Korea’s rapidly-developing missile and military nuclear programs, has sent a strike force and submarine to the peninsula. Pyongyang has said it is ready for war. The two sides have been increasingly trading threats of military action against one another.

Referring to those tensions on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned against “heavy-handed approaches,” which he said would have many “catastrophic consequences” for the region.

“It is obvious that heavy-handed approaches that are beginning to be mentioned publicly are fraught with catastrophic consequences for the Korean Peninsula and the whole of Northeast Asia,” he told the annual Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS).

Specifically referring to the deployment of the THAAD, the Russian foreign minister said, “An extremely destabilizing factor remains the forced deployment of US THAAD systems, a component of the US global missile defense, in the south of the peninsula.”

Also present at the MCIS was Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan, who delivered a speech at the event.

Dehqan used his speech to warn against the escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula. “We are of the opinion that if the Korean Peninsula crisis slides toward war, it would have destructive and global consequences,” he said.

The start of the operations to deploy the THAAD at a time of increased tensions specifically serves to complicate the situation.

The US missile system is being installed in Seongju in South Korea’s North Gyeongsang Province.

  1. …yawn, this does NOT stop smuggled nukes or a EMP strike from nukes in a polar orbit.

Everyone assumes there will be one manageable nuke attack against the USA from North Korea that will be shot down and everyone can wait in a basement for 2 weeks till you are out of beer and toilet paper and go shopping.

There will be a series of first strike attacks, not necessarily in this order…..

1a. Yellowstone nuked by smuggled nukes made from material we gave to Pakistan. 65% of the country covered in heavy wet radioactive ash, 10 to 1 foot deep. Why Pakistan? Smuggled nukes made from our own US nuclear material with our own nuclear isotope fingerprint on it, can not be tracked. Lol, can you say “Allahu Akbar Pearl Harbor in a delivery van from Mexico with Love!”

    2. Polar orbit EMP strike(s) in space over the US fries most of the US power grid and all unprotected solid state devices. Then, 24 hours to 3 weeks later all 60 or so of the active US nuclear power plants run out of emergency oil and battery backup power needed to run pumps to cool the core rods. They then melt down and explode like Chernobyl. See what just one or two EMP’s can do?

Russia, China and North Korea (with two!) have satellites in polar orbit over the USA now!

….. the U.S. is aware of the satellites, it is unable to determine their payloads.

The US Power industry does not want to pay to harden the US electrical grid against a EMP and Congress has been effectively bribed for years to ignore it.

Why? Corporate profits trump effective national security.

3a. Nuclear mines create 30 foot tsunamis that take out the Diego Garcia AFB, the US East and Left coast cities and ports 2 to 15 miles inland.

3b.100 knot nuclear torpedoes take out other US foreign bases and navy fleet concentrations as required after the chaos.

    4. Smuggled chemical and biological attacks as required.

BTW, Aircraft Carrier battle groups, Nuke Subs, Arleigh Burke Class (Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System) Destroyers and Airborne lasers patrolling in the oceans are useless against 1, 2, 3 and 4.

But Hey, the MIC got $tinking rich making them while they ALL ignored the obvious.

Better lay in a lot of beer and TP.

  2. The dark winds of war are sailing high above, as the Generals march and salute to the tune of missile exhaust, and death smiles at her incoming patronage, as Satan smiles at deaths delight; bye, bye American pie! and the old folk there drank whisky and rye, singing, this will be the day that I die! This will be the day that humanity begins to die!
