Super Christian Walgreens Is Selling Holiday Paper With Swastikas On It

Fact checked

Known for being a very Christian based pharmacy store chain in North America, Walgreens, is under fire today after a woman casually shopping for holiday wrapping paper was shocked to see a Hanukkah themed wrapping paper with clear Nazi-like swastikas emblazoned all over the paper!

According to an article on The Blaze titled “Woman Was So ‘Appalled’ by What She Found on a Walgreens Shelf, She Demanded It Be Removed ‘Immediately’” [1], author Jon Street writes:

Cheryl Shapiro was shopping with her grandson at a Los Angeles Walgreens on Saturday when she spotted something in the store’s Hanukkah section that made her stop in her tracks.

It was blue wrapping paper with a maze of silver lines — that she claimed formed a Nazi swastika symbol.

Shapiro said she was “appalled” and brought the gift wrap design to the attention of the manager in the Northridge, California, store.

“I explained what was going on and how upset I was,” Shapiro told KNBC-TV. “I told them I wanted this taken off the shelves immediately — not just your store, but national.”

Shapiro said she later went home and spoke with her rabbi who “couldn’t believe it.”

According to KNBC, at least one other Walgreens store in neighboring Chatsworth was selling the paper.

“We are in the process of removing the product from our stores,” Walgreens spokesman Phil Caruso told TheBlaze in an email.

Shapiro told KNBC she’s “still very upset” about how “something like this could be on the market.”
