Voters are returning their pro-EU leaflets back to Downing Street after it emerged that the Government is spending nearly £10 million of the tax payers money on a propaganda blitz.

The Daily Express reports:

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has called on the public to return leaflets saying: “I hope millions of those who receive Government’s pro-EU booklet return to sender, back to Downing Street. That’s what I’m going to do.”

Brexit campaign group Leave.EU is asking voters to send the EU leaflets to them in order to make it clear that they do not accept David Cameron’s “attempt to rig our referendum with public money”.

Leave.EU co-chairman Arron Banks said: “We’re encouraging our supporters to send his propaganda leaflets on to us so we can bag them up and dump them right on his doorstep at Number 10 – that should send a pretty clear message!”

Here is a summary of how to send your EU leaflet back as soon as it lands on your doormat.

How to return the EU leaflet

An official online campaign, set up under the name Post It Back, has given tips on the best ways to send your EU leaflet back to Number 10.

The group declared: “Let’s send a strong message back to this out-of-touch Government that we live in a democracy and don’t need to be force-fed propaganda at our expense!”

Post It Back advises voters to put the booklet in a stamped envelope addressed to David Cameron MP, Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA.

The campaign said voters can also send the leaflet free of charge to Joanna George, Freepost RSBB-XRZT-ZTXE, The Conservative Party Foundation, 30 Millbank, London SW1P 4DP.

Post It Back has prepared template letters, addressed to Mr Cameron with the heading ‘Complaint: Misuse of taxpayers’ funds’, which can also be enclosed in the envelope.

Other voters have chosen to scrawl messages such as “junk mail” on the EU leaflet and have penned their own complaint letters about the waste of taxpayers’ money.

Brexit campaign Leave.EU are asking people to send leaflets to Leave.EU’s office at Lysander House, Catbrain Lane, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, BS10 7TQ.
