Following recent mass shootings in the United States, movie star Brad Pitt has spoken out against the move to remove the Second Amendment from the Constitution and confiscate guns from ordinary, law-abiding American citizens.
Describing America as “a country founded on guns,” Brad Pitt told the Daily Mail that “It’s in our DNA. It’s very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don’t feel safe, I don’t feel the house is completely safe, if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong.”
Pitt was raised in Springfield, Missouri by a father who ran a trucking company, and his mother, a school counsellor. He explains that schools in the region were “sane environments” made “safer, not more dangerous, by the presence of guns.”

“I got my first BB gun (a type of air gun) when I was in nursery school. I got my first shotgun by first grade (aged six), I had shot a handgun by third grade (aged eight) and I grew up in a pretty sane environment.
“I was in the UK when the shootings happened and I did hear the discussion about gun control start again, and as far as I know it petered out as it always does.”
The actor and producer also predicted the anti-gun lobby will never win their fight against the Second Amendment.
The average American will never let them take away our right to defend ourselves. They are waging a war against the American psyche.

Americans use guns over 1 million times per year to deter criminals – they almost always just brandish the guns (crimeresearch.org) . The answer to school shootings is to allow responsible teachers to carry concealed. Utah has been doing this for years with no accidental shootings of students and no mass shootings. At least 6 other states also allow teachers to carry concealed in schools – it should be nationwide. Seconds count in a shooting incident and it takes far too long for the police to show up. In Florida, there were two armed guards but neither engaged the alleged shooter. Teachers can be counted on to defend themselves and, in so doing, to protect their students.
Interesting that Utah is doing this as stated. I hope that those teachers have all taken trainings so that they will be ready and able to use the gun when needed. Since I believe in teachers and I know they believe in education they probably have..
Gun control does not mean eliminating guns or the Right to Bear Arms.
It means creating legislation that controls the type of guns that are legal and the training, and skill qualifications of those who are permitted to own or purchase guns. That would mean: Absolutely NO semiautomatic or automatic weapons, only single shot guns, no rapid fire, no devices that can convert a gun into an automatic weapon. To own or purchase a gun a person would need to have a specific reason to own that gun and be evaluated for the capacity to manage it responsibly.

You are a typical, delusional, uninformed gun grabber. Everyone constantly brings up the BS Australia narrative. I have had several online conversations with Australian people who tell me that only 15% of the total firearms were actually surrendered. Most gun owners refused and instead hid them from you gun grabbers.

If the Australian data is true, that they have not had the #s of mass shootings it is fantastic. No citizen needs automatic rapid fire weapons, that is where control is applied. Not to grab all guns from citizens. If you desire to call me a gun grabber, ok you choice but not true.
