Chris Christie and Mike Pence Vow To ‘Endorse Biden’ and ‘Leave GOP’ If Trump Wins Nomination

Failed Republican presidential candidates Chris Christie and Mike Pence have promised to endorse Joe Biden and resign from the Republican party if Donald Trump wins the GOP nomination, according to reports.

Christie recently dropped out of the race for the GOP nomination, making the announcement Wednesday night at a town hall in New Hampshire just hours before the fifth debate of the 2024 election cycle kicked off without him.

“My goal has never been to be just a voice against the hate and division and the selfishness of what our party has become under Donald Trump,” Christie declared at a New Hampshire town hall.

“I’ve always said that if there came a point in time in this race where I couldn’t see a path to accomplishing that goal, that I would get out,” he continued. “And it’s clear to me tonight that there isn’t a path for me to win the nomination, which is why I’m suspending my campaign tonight for president of the United States.”

It remains unclear whether Christie plans to endorse one of his rivals in the GOP race, but he was overheard criticizing Nikki Haley on a livestream set up by his campaign ahead of the event. “She’s going to get smoked,” he said. “She’s not up to this.” Christie said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called him, terrified he would endorse Haley, but the mic was cut before Christie finished speaking.

Pence dropped out of the race in October last year following dismal polling figures which were trending downwards as the former vice president sharpened his attacks on Trump.
