UK Demands That Germany Gets Tougher On Russia

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, to step up pressure on Russia and will be encouraging him to do so when the two leaders meet in London on Friday.

According to a report in the Times newspaper, London fears that other members of the NATO military bloc will force Ukraine to “settle” the conflict as soon as possible, whereas London opposes the idea of signing a peace deal with Russia at any cost. The UK government is insisting that Kiev should first of all be in the strongest possible position.

RT reports: Johnson reportedly plans to urge Scholz to exert more diplomatic, economic and military pressure on Moscow.

The meeting later this week will be the German Chancellor’s first visit to London in his current capacity.

On Sunday, the British premier vowed to slap Russia with yet more sanctions and provide additional military support to Kiev. Johnson cited the alleged killing of civilians in the Ukrainian town of Bucha, accusing the Russian military of committing atrocities and promising that the UK “will not rest until justice is served.

Chancellor Scholz, too, joined the chorus of indignation, saying that his government would make sure that “Putin and his supporters will feel the consequences” of their actions. German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock revealed plans to “toughen the sanctions against Russia and further support Ukraine,” – a message also echoed by Germany’s Vice Chancellor and economy minister, Robert Habeck.

On Sunday, the Ukrainian government accused Russian troops of committing a “deliberate massacre.” Moscow, for its part, has strongly denied its involvement, claiming that the graphic scenes had been staged by Ukrainian authorities for the sake of making shocking TV footage. Russia described the events in Bucha as a “blatant provocation by Ukrainian radicals.

Moscow launched an assault against its neighbor in late February, following Ukraine’s failure to implement the terms of the Minsk agreements signed in 2014, and Russia’s eventual recognition of the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk. The German and French brokered protocols had been designed to regularize the status of those regions within the Ukrainian state.

Russia has now demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join the US-led NATO military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked and has denied claims it was planning to retake the two republics by force.

  1. Considering food costs have gone up over 50% in Germany I don’t think they can afford to get much “tougher”. All that “green energy” is doing wonders for the average and lower class citizens. I bet Boris, Angela, and Emmanuelle aren’t hurting though.

  2. England made sure they withdrew from the EU so they could act independently as the greatest empire in earth without being legally hampered by ties with the Union. Now they’re big enough to push Europe around again. And I knew they did it with the intentions of conquering Russia using America really as their barracks But America, as always will let the dog s fight until almost dead and them move in like a vulture. And everything stage manged by the Baron of Fleet Street and secret societies.

  3. russia provides about 80% of ALL countrys with nuclear powerplants and supplys but russia has about 25% green energys 33 nuclear power plants.Russia mines for most of the world for nuclear energy also and provides the building and service and supplys for those power plants worldwide.Russia is number one in nuclear power and knowledge and the raw minning.America has 98 nuclear power plants over 25% of the world`s nuclear reactors around 400 worldwide total. So pulling the plug on russia isn`t even possible in 2022.It is a war stage DMZ weapons proving grounds that should have removed the population first!

  4.
